Summer is short in Minnesota, meaning we need to enjoy every second of it. For many of us, our furry friends are so much more than just that. They are part of the family. We couldn’t agree more, which is why we have put together a guide for dog-friendly things to do with your pup this summer.
Dog-Friendly Summer Fun
Planning to Stay
We all feel the pain of filling up our gas tanks, so why not make it worthwhile and stay for the weekend? The best part is you can bring Fido with you. Check out the following Roseville, MN hotels that are pet friendly:
Let Your Fur Baby Play
Dogs need activity and while going for a walk on a leash is excellent, being off leash and running free feels even better. Plan a stop at Reservoir Woods park. They have an off-leash dog park called Woodview. You can walk for miles around the park and allow your pup to play off-leash in the dog park.
Take Them to Patio
Plan to grab a cold drink and some food while your beloved pup joins the fun too. Here are some of the local spots where your doggo is welcome:
- Bent Brewstillery (inside and patio)
- High Pines/Tipsy Steer
- Pizza Luce
- Grumpy’s
- Granite City Food & Brewery
- Davanni’s
- Old Chicago
- D’Amico & Sons
- Caribou Coffee
- Panera Bread
- Lucky’s 13 Pub
Go Shopping for Them
Plan a shopping trip with your pup. There are several local pet stores where your dog is welcome inside to shop with you. They can help you pick out treats, toys, and more!
- PetSmart
- Pet Supplies Plus
- Petco
- Chuck and Don’s Pet Food and Supplies
Remember to always be a responsible pet owner. Meaning, when you are on outings with your dog remember to:
- Carry poo bags and always cleanup after them
- Being cautious and always ask for permission for your dog to say “hello” to another furry friend
- Bring water and a collapsible bowl on outings so your dog always has access clean water
- Keep them on leash unless you are in a designated off-leash area
- Avoid excessive heat by keeping them indoors and in the AC when it’s hot out
- Pavement gets hot – hot enough to burn their paws, so limit their time outside and do your best to keep them off all pavement on those excessively hot days
