8 Twin Cities Attractions & Activities to Take Kids
Finding something new to do with your kids can be tough, especially when you’re looking for an activity that isn’t going to break the bank. Can Can Wonderland
Every Thursday through Sunday, Can Can Wonderland holds free family friendly events. Upcoming events can be found on their calendar! You never know what you’ll learn.
Mall of America
Watch as your child engages in arts and crafts, listens during story time, dances with their favorite character during a special appearance and much more during Toddler Tuesdays at Mall of America. There is a new event every Tuesday from 10AM-12PM and are always FREE and open to the public. There’s also lunch deals and a Nickelodeon Universe ride special (details on the website) for those attending the program.

Minneapolis Institute of Art
Every parent loves to hear the word FREE when it comes to something to do with their kids. The Minneapolis Institute of Art is ALWAYS free and their Family Day events are no exception. On the second Sunday of every month you can make art, go on artful adventures, meet local musicians, dancers, and storytellers, and more!
American Swedish Institute
Make for an early weekend during Kids at the Castle at the American Swedish Institute on Fridays & Saturdays. Before the museum opens bring the kids to the castle for visual play, storytelling, music, dancing, and crafts. Each activity will encourage creative minds and active hands. Just $5 per family with no registration required you and your little one will be having a blast.
Science Museum of Minnesota
Tuesdays are a popular day of play and the Science Museum of Minnesota invites you to join them for a special promotion every Tuesday, 10AM-12PM that will keep little hands busy and little minds buzzing! Purchase a regular price adult ticket and receive a free child admission (ages 5 and under). Also, Minnesota Children’s Museum members receive FREE Science Museum admission during Playdates!
Como Park Zoo & Conservatory
Every Thursday from September to April bring your little explorers to Como Park Zoo & Conservatory for Lil’ Explorer Thursdays. Your little ones will learn and meet animals and plant visitors, see story time, play games and many other fun themed weekly activity. Programs are FREE from 10AM-12PM.
Minnesota Transportation Museum
Do you know any train fanatics? Most kids love trains! Come to the Jackson Street Roundhouse on select Wednesdays from 10AM-12PM for Tots & Trains. Your kiddos will play with the train tables, create a craft to take home, and listen to train-themed story time. As the parent, enjoy coffee and treats as your little one plays. Prices: Adult $10 | Child (age 5-15) $8 | Senior (age 62+) $8 | Toddler (age 2-4) $5.
Landmark Center
Sunday is usually family day in most households and the Landmark Center knows just that! Sundays at Landmark is a series of cultural and art events that are designed to entertain, enrich and educate an audience. Programs include concerts, festivals and other unique experiences – all FREE.
