Your Guide to Winter Activities and Events
Winter is upon us and while it may be tempting to curl up on your couch with a blanket, there are so many activities and events you don’t want to miss out on.
Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean there aren’t things to do both indoors and outdoors. That’s why we put together this guide to winter activities and events!
Get Outside
Ice Skating
Fun for the whole family, ice skating is a great way to get up, get out, and get moving. You will find yourself laughing and making memories that will truly last a lifetime. Check out the Roseville Skating Center, as they have both outdoor and indoor rinks. The outdoor rink known as the OVAL is the largest sheet of refrigerated ice in North America! Not only will you find traditional open ice skating time, but they also offer open adult hockey and open speed skating.
They also offer rental skates (limited sizes) and skate sharpening (no speed skates).
Parks
Bundle up and plan to hit some outdoor parks with the family. Roseville offers 32 award winning parks, so you have plenty of options to choose from.
Trails
Grab your snowshoes or cross country skies and check out the miles of trails that are ideal for winter use.
Harriet Alexander Nature Center
Take a walk along the boardwalk and trails that lead through 52 acres of marsh, prairie, and forest. Once you’ve walked the double loop, warm up inside the interpretive center where you’ll find the indoor tree exhibit, interactive displays, live native animals, a touch and see area, and a learning center than includes storybooks, guidebooks, and identification books for your use while in the building. Visit their website to learn more about the nature center.
Stay Inside
Make a Splash
A hotel with a pool for the kiddos is a great way to spend time indoors with the family while staying active. Plan your stay today!
Indoor Walking
Sometimes it is just too cold to go for a walk outside in Minnesota! We are so grateful that the OVAL offers a public indoor walking track. Oh and did we mention the walking track is FREE?! View the schedule of open walk.
Hidden MN
Grab the family for a little fun as you try to puzzle your way out of an escape room or try your hand at axe or star throwing. Reserve your spot today.
Gamezenter
Spend a cozy day playing games at Gamezenter. Their game library features board games, card games, roleplaying games, miniature games, and everything in between. Enjoy them all in their free open gaming space. They even have a cafe, so you game all day without going hungry!
