Hospitality Hotshots: Celebrating Roseville's Hospitality Workers

In the spirit of National Travel and Tourism Week we want to recognize some of the outstanding Hospitality Hotshots in our community! These hospitality workers go the extra mile to assist customers and guests and their dedication and passion have truly set the bar high in the industry. Thank you to all for your hard work and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Sarah Hitchler

Front Desk—DoubleTree by Hilton Roseville

Sarah exudes customer service. She is always super friendly and welcoming to all guests. Her name comes up constantly on customer surveys. Sarah really takes the time to listen to guests and understand their needs! She is always willing to help other departments as well. For example, Sarah continually helps Sales by making food labels, fliers, and has even attended a Wedding Networking Event.

Meech Johnson

Taproom/Event Manager—Bent Brewstillery

Meech has risen to the position of Taproom/Event Manager. He has over-achieved since starting by creating new processes for checks and balances of shifts, staffing, stocking, cleaning and serving. His clear passion for the industry and the company is expressed daily in his efforts at work as well as on his own time. When working the bar, he makes every patron feel special from the time they enter until the time they leave. Easy rapport and friendly conversation mixed with product knowledge keeps everyone entertained and educated (even though they don’t know it). And he has also instilled this into his staff. If you’re ever sad, come to Bent Brewstillery to get cheered up!

Leann Kopic

Server—Keys Café & Bakery

Leann has been serving Keys customers for over 35 years. Keys opened in 1989 and Leann started in 1995. She is always a professional and makes every customer feel special and like they are part of the Keys family. She always knows when it's a "regular's" birthday or if a regular might need food brought to them (which she is always willing to deliver herself) if they are in need because of health issues. She is loyal and committed to the Keys tradition of making Keys a home away from home.

Gabby Clouser

Assistant General Manager—Hampton Inn Roseville

Gabby is a great example of what hard work and a positive attitude can lead to in the hospitality industry. Gabby started at the Hampton Roseville in February 2017 and has consistently been a great example for everyone that she has crossed paths with. In that time she has been promoted an amazing 5 times. She holds herself to the highest standard and is continuously working to push staff to the same level. When the hotel needs something, there is no doubt Gabby will get it done and she will do it with a smile on her face. It is beyond clear how much pride Gabby has in the hotel and over the past 7 years she has positively affected the lives of thousands of guests that will continue to come back to the Hampton Roseville to see her!

Steve Beaudet

Maintenance Chief—Hampton Inn & Home2 Roseville

Steve is the definition of a team player and always has a smile on his face. He is knowledgeable and can fix just about anything. He is also a friendly face in the hotels, always saying hello to guests and always ready to lend a helping hand to any department. He also joined in the Rose Parade last year and was happy to play his part in getting involved in the community.

Dylan Abbott

Assistant Manager—Makwa Coffee

Dylan brings customer service to the next level, greeting and engaging with everyone who walks in the door. She takes her job as a barista seriously and knows how even a small kindness can go a long way to improve someone's day. Dylan's latte art is also sure to bring a smile to your face!

Axel Nelson

Assistant General Manager—Smash Park Roseville

Axel is the best! He's got this awesome knack for cracking jokes that can make the toughest days better! But it's not just about the laughs - he grinds alongside everyone and shows what dedication really looks like. He has an amazing ability to really get where others are coming from. He is always there to lend an ear or offer a pep talk when needed most. Axel is a refreshing reminder that leadership is about lifting each other up, sharing a laugh, and tackling everything as a team.
