Overview
This tour is a fun opportunity to check out several acres of restored prairie (installed over 20 years ago) without leaving the cities. Longtime Gibbs Farm volunteers keep track of What’s Blooming in the Prairie. They will identify the prolific blooms and help you to appreciate the incredible biodiversity of this important Minnesota biome. The tour will touch on edible and medicinal plants and visitors will be able to see the effects of regular controlled burns have had on the plants. This tour is designed for adults and kids ages 12+ but all are welcome!
