Spring break is just around the corner and many of us are starting to plan some family fun to enjoy the time off. If you are looking for an affordable vacation with tons of things to do, consider Roseville, MN as your destination.
The city is located just outside of St. Paul and just minutes from downtown Minneapolis and offers a variety of activities and attractions for all ages. Whether you are traveling with family, friends or solo, Roseville has something for everyone.

Exploring the City
Once you have a place to stay, it’s time to start exploring the city. Roseville has 30+ parks and nature areas that are perfect for outdoor activities. One of the most popular parks is Central Park, which features walking trails, picnic areas, and multiple playgrounds, including an inclusive playground, where children of all abilities can play together. While there, be sure to check out Harriet Alexander Nature Center where kids can discover the natural world through hands-on experiences and activities and you can wander the boardwalks through prairie habitats and wetlands. If you love hiking, scenic trails await you at nearby 115-acre Reservoir Woods Park.
Shopping
If you're looking for indoor activities, Roseville has many shopping centers and malls. Spend the morning checking out some of the unique local shops such as Source Comics & Games, Bricks & Minifigs, and Love from MN. Then, head over to Rosedale Center where you can refuel at Potluck, a food hall featuring local favorites that has options that will please the whole family. Rosedale Center is one of the largest malls in the area and features over 100 stores. After you've shopped 'til you drop, it's time to relax and catch a movie at the AMC Rosedale 14 theater.
History, Science, Culture and Art
For those interested in history, science, culture and art, Roseville has several museums nearby. The first must-see is the Bell Museum, which is known for their lifelike wildlife dioramas, digital planetarium, high-tech exhibits, and outdoor learning experiences.
Next on the list is the Raptor Center where you can see raptors up close and personal. Take a tour to learn all about the incredible work of owls, hawks, falcons, and eagles. The center is also responsible for the preservation and the rescue of injured raptors. If you are in search of more animals consider a trip to SeaQuest or Como Zoo. Other museums nearby that are great for the whole family include Minnesota Children’s Museum and the Science Museum of Minnesota.
If your kid’s more into shows than science, there is plenty of that to go around as well! At Children’s Theatre Company, Alice will be taking a plunge down the rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland (best for ages 6+) through March 31, and all ages will enjoy the weird and wonderous science of Babble Lab playing March 9-April 14. If you have a later spring break, ages 5+ will enjoy The Name Jar, a celebration of culture, family and what’s in a name from March 22-April 14 at Stages Theatre Company.
Activities
If you are still in search of some fun activities for the whole family consider a visit to SeaQuest. Located in Roseville, you will find that SeaQuest offers an amazing interactive experience. On your visit you can plan to meet Quilliam, a porcupine at SeaQuest, and learn all about his unique species while hand feeding him his favorite snacks!
Additionally, you can meet their adorable sloth, Luca! You’ll get to feed, pet, and touch Luca in this once-in-a-lifetime experience all while learning about sloths and their natural habitats. Oh and did we mention you can also snorkel with stingrays?!
If you have small children you may want to consider a stop at Build-A-Bear where your little one can create their very own stuffed best friend. For one-of-a-kind drinks, jaw dropping entertainment, mini golf, arcade games and more you should head over to Can Can Wonderland.
Dining
When it comes to dining, Roseville has a diverse range of options. Whether you are looking for a casual lunch or a fancy dinner, there is something for everyone. Some of our family-friendly favorites include:
