Top 5: Favorite Picnic Spots in Roseville
We are all about unconventional national holidays; they are so much fun to celebrate!
We couldn’t pass up National Picnic Day when we know that Roseville is the best spot in the Twin Cities to have a picnic. With 30 parks in Roseville the possibilities for a relaxing, comfortable and fun picnic day seem endless. Here are 5 of our favorite picnic spots in Roseville.
Central Park
Central Park is Roseville’s largest park with a whopping 225 acres. It’s divided into six areas for you to choose your favorite spot to set-up your picnic blanket. Some features throughout the park is the Muriel Sahlin Arboretum, Lake Bennett, the Frank Rog Amphitheatre, and the Harriet Alexander Nature Center.
Langton Lake Park
Langton Lake Park is home to beautiful, Langton Lake (I know, shocking!). Feel free to get your picnic on in one of the two picnic areas or choose a grassy spot close to one of the two new play structures. When you’re done, stretch your legs with a walk on the ALMOST one mile trail around the lake.
Mapleview Park
Mapleview Park is 3.3 acres, making it a perfect spot to lay down that picnic blanket for an afternoon. There’s also a covered picnic table and grill available if you want to get away from the sun and need to grill up some hot dogs. Bring along the kids for some fun on the playground before and after your meal.
Jaycees Picnic Shelter
Roseville’s largest picnic shelter is the Jaycees Shelter located in Central Park. You can rent out the shelter for group celebrations, events, etc. from April-October. The space offers a full kitchen, restrooms and a close by fire ring. It’s picnicing to the extreme!
Villa Park
Villa Park offers a beautiful setting for a picnic lunch/dinner. Other than offering plenty of space to set-up shop, Villa Park also has a play structure, basketball court and bocce ball court for some action. You can also rent the park building for meetings or events.
To make picnicing a little easier and carefree, pick up your picnic food items from a local Roseville restaurant that features to-go menus.
